This as-told-to essay is based on a transcribed conversation with Justin Cambra, a former Amazon worker from Seattle who started a parking side hustle. I rent out parking spaces at my house. I realized I had tons of parking space at my house — around half an acre of paved space. I started by pricing each space at $213 a month per stall, which is what was recommended on the site. That cost me around $6,000 in total over the last year but meant I had 20 parking spaces.

Already, generative AI is being experimented with inside the travel sector, albeit with mixed results. "Travel is fundamentally about connecting people and communities, and that human connection will always play a crucial role in the travel experience," Fogel said. It described ChatGPT "as a virtual travel assistant," allowing for more conversational interactions with Kayak's search engine. There may be not better example today of travel plan disruption than the airport experience. Breed predicts that at least some of the anxiety can be eliminated or mitigated by focused use of AI and generative AI tools like ChatGPT.

Flood watches are in effect for 12 million people in Central and Northern California. The cyclone will send a pair of warm and cold fronts over Northern California, which is already rain-soaked. “When you have more water vapor in the air because the air is warmer — you can transport more water vapor quickly,” Ralph said. Although some smaller reservoirs in Northern California have filled up, larger reservoirs still have the capacity to absorb more. “I think we will have largely alleviated the short-term drought in Northern California," Swain said.

The flight cancellations on Saturday morning included over 450 from Southwest Airlines (LUV.N) and nearly 400 from Delta Air Lines Inc (DAL.N). Around a third of the flights to and from Denver International Airport were canceled and around a quarter to and from Chicago O'Hare International Airport were canceled, FlightAware data shows. Other airports, including Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, Reagan National Airport, and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, had a large proportion of their flights delayed, although fewer than 10% were canceled.

A cross-country winter storm system is expected to bring severe weather conditions to the South and Northeast. Jackson, Mississippi, is in the center of the severe weather risk area, with other cities to watch being Memphis, Tennessee; New Orleans; Birmingham, Alabama; and Shreveport, Louisiana. The storm system will shift east on Wednesday, bringing strong thunderstorms, heavy rain and wind to the East Coast. Atlanta; Mobile, Alabama; New Orleans; and Tallahassee, Florida, could all see strong storms, especially in the first half of the day. The northern side of this cross-country storm system will bring snow, which will affect the Upper Midwest.
The Pacific Northwest, known for its dreary, wet weather much of the year, is seeing summer-like weather as a high pressure system has pumped up temperatures and put first responders on alert for fires. A line of red flag warnings extends along the western slopes of the Cascade Mountains, from the California border with Oregon to the U.S. Border with Canada, according to the National Weather Service. “A lot of wildfire smoke is impacting air quality in the region,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Jeff Michalski. A Pacific trough could bring a chance of drizzle to the Portland area Monday and Tuesday, but summer-like weather could return Wednesday. Traditionally wet weather from offshore was possible next weekend for the Pacific Northwest, said Michalski, who’s based at the Seattle-area forecast office.
